General eligibility conditions

To be eligible as a regular student, the candidate must meet the general eligibility conditions (section XI) of the Educational Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.

To meet the Université de Montréal average of 3.0 out of 4.3, candidates from this province must meet the following requirements:

Accepted diploma: Baccalaureate, Bachelor; duration of 3 years, or another undergraduate degree deemed equivalent.

Conditions specific to this program

To be eligible as a regular student at the MA (history of art), the candidate must:

  • meet the general eligibility conditions (section XI of the Educational Regulations) for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
  • hold a specialized BA (art history) or a baccalaureate with a major in art history, or a diploma adequately preparing for the studies they wish to undertake, or proof of training deemed equivalent
  • have obtained, in the 1st cycle, an average of at least 3.2 out of 4.3 or the equivalent unless the candidate demonstrates relevant experience
  • demonstrate a good knowledge of French and sufficient knowledge of English or another language of international significance.
