To be eligible as a regular student, the candidate must meet the general eligibility conditions (section XXVI) of the Educational Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.

To meet the Université de Montréal average of 3.3 out of 4.3, candidates from this province must meet the following requirements:

Conditions specific to this program

To be eligible as a regular Ph.D. student (English studies), the candidate must:

  • meet the general eligibility conditions (section XXVI) of the Educational Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
  • hold an MA (English studies) or demonstrate training deemed equivalent
  • have obtained an average of at least 3.3 out of 4.3 or the equivalent in the 2nd cycle
The candidate must demonstrate excellent knowledge of English, good knowledge of French and any other language deemed necessary for the pursuit of their research.
