To be eligible as a regular student, the candidate must meet the general eligibility conditions (section XX) of the Educational Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.

To meet the Université de Montréal average of 3.3 out of 4.3, candidates from this province must meet the following requirements:

Conditions specific to this program

To be eligible as a regular Ph.D. student (political science), the candidate must:

  • meet the general eligibility conditions (section XX of the Educational Regulations) for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
  • hold an M. Sc. (political science), or a diploma that adequately prepares them for the studies they wish to undertake or provide evidence of training considered equivalent
  • have obtained, in the 2nd cycle, an average of at least 3.3 out of 4.3 or the equivalent
The candidate must have sufficient knowledge of French, English and any other language deemed necessary for the pursuit of their research.
