The Graduate Program in Biochemistry at the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto at USP will complete 50 years in 2021 as a CAPES Excellence Program (grade 6). The high scientific productivity of the 21 groups that make up our Program is a reflection of a highly qualified faculty, most of them CNPq productivity fellows. Most of our professors collaborate with renowned researchers and institutions in Brazil and abroad, providing excellent exchange opportunities for our graduate students. Part of this success is also due to the transformation of our research laboratories into centers of modern technologies, thanks to the continuous search by our advisors for the expansion and modernization of our equipment park, several of which are operated as multi-user. We are supported by diverse funding sources, in a rich environment of innovation in basic, translational, biotechnology and bioenergy research. The combination of these fronts has allowed Professors, Students and Graduates of our Program to contribute significantly to the scientific, technological and innovation development in priority areas for the country and the world.
