The objective of the Doctoral Program in Sciences of Religions is to develop, at the highest levels of academic training, the scientific and secular analysis of the religious phenomenon as a determining fact of our societies, as well as those of the past. This scientific analysis of religions must start from an exhaustive study of the cultural contexts in which religious phenomena develop, so it can only be approached from multidisciplinary perspectives, which allow us to approach the complexity of some manifestations that, having a spiritual character, they are, above all, human, contextual and historical social constructions that respond to specific needs and collaborate to build specific societies. The development of these studies and the promotion of research in the field of religions with this scientific and multidisciplinary approach is all the more important at the present time when all societies are increasingly interrelated, increasingly multiracial and multicultural and it becomes more and more necessary to provide a scientific basis for the analysis that allows the understanding of one's own beliefs and the beliefs and traditions of others as a means of social integration.
