The CAHME-accredited Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) degree at the David Eccles School of Business prepares students for success in administrative positions in both the private and public sectors of the healthcare industry, including healthcare delivery, public health, and healthcare policy. The MHA is offered as an individual graduate degree and as a dual degree with MBA, PMBA, MPH, and MPA. The minimum credit hours range from 59 for the individual degree to 72 for the MPH/MHA, 74 for the MPA/MHA, 78 for the PMBA/MHA and 86 for the MBA/MHA. The MHA program’s mission is to build foundations for healthcare leadership by providing students with the leadership skills and technical tools to improve the human condition across a broad spectrum of healthcare institutions. The program competencies include communication, relationship management, strategic and analytical thinking skills, and business fundamentals, all skills necessary for increasingly responsible leadership roles in healthcare.

Admission Requirements

6.5+
All international graduate applicants to the University of Utah must meet the following minimum Graduate School requirements: A bachelor's degree from a regionally-accredited U.S. college or university or from an institution recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education in their home country. The Office of International Admissions will determine if applicants with international degrees meet the Graduate School's requirement of a recognized bachelor's degree. At least a 3.0 or higher undergraduate weighted mean GPA on a 4.0 scale. If the undergraduate GPA is below 3.0, a GPA will be calculated for the last two years attended if schooling was done at a foreign institution, and based upon the last 60 semester hours (90 quarter hours) if the student attended a U.S. institution. Other English Language Requirements: 550 on the TOEFL PBT (paper-based).
