The Lawrence-based Mass Communications MSJ program offers professional and thesis courses, emphasizing the study of real-world media issues, critical thinking skills, and media use. The Lawrence-based program offers the opportunity to specialize in one of four areas of study: Sports media, Health Science Communication, Digital Media Entrepreneurship / Leadership, and the MSJD. Students also learn the discipline’s theory and methods to explore the causes and effects of media issues. Students take advanced seminars and a concentration of their own choosing. Students then complete a thesis under the direction of a faculty advisor. Our J-School’s graduate programs offer students the opportunity to study cutting-edge media and its uses in today’s world, while giving you the tools to advance your skills and operate the highest levels of your chosen industry.
