With the growth of new media and digital technology, users now engage with entertainment media wherever and whenever. Many organisations in society have a genuine need for knowledge about entertainment media and technology and feel increasingly compelled to tailor their products and want up-to-date scientific knowledge about media preferences. The Entertainment Communication track, with its roots in media psychology, trains you to meet this growing need for knowledge and advice.

The Entertainment Communication track focuses on the experience and impact of entertainment media and technology among a range of different groups and individuals, within different social contexts. In addition, we pay attention to media content and design and specifically link these to audience’s needs and preferences. You'll study what makes particular entertainment media and technology (e.g., computer games, advertising, social media) effective in reaching the desired outcome.
