According to the order of the Ministry of Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 175 dated May 20, 1996, the Faculty of Engineering and Economics was established. On February 1, 2003, the Tashkent Institute of Electrotechnical Communication was renamed the Faculty of "Economics and Management" in connection with the name of the Tashkent University of Information Technologies. Since 2013, it has been changed to the faculty of "Economics and Management in the ICT Sector". Graduates of the faculty work in the planning and economic departments of the communications sector, production and technical services, joint-stock and private enterprises, design organizations and the social sector, as well as in the transport sector. Since December 26, 2022, the faculty has been headed by Doctor of Economics Saitkamolov, son of Mukhamadkhoja Sobirkhoja.
