Graduate students develop flexible individual programs of study and research in one or more of the available research areas. Program Outcome Students who successfully complete this program will be able to: Carry out independent research projects in their field of expertise. Demonstrate ability to communicate course material for physics classes in the areas of quantum mechanics, electricity and magnetism, statistical mechanics, and classical mechanics. Demonstrate general knowledge in their research subfield. Present their ideas clearly, both orally and in writing.
