In child studies, you examine the ways in which children learn, develop, and grow from psychological, physiological, and social perspectives, with families considered a central context in which children develop. You explore ways of working with children in diverse and inclusive settings, and the importance of early learning opportunities and early intervention is emphasized. You complete more than 500 hours of practical experience working with children in a variety of settings through guaranteed practicum placements and are eligible to apply for membership in the College of Early Childhood Educators upon graduation. You are prepared for admission to many graduate programs including Teacher Education programs.
