To develop the space path of Kazakhstan, taking into account the urgent need for specialists in the rocket and space industry, in 2009 the Department of "Space engineering and technology" was opened at the L.N. Gumilyov ENU, where the beginning of training of bachelors of engineering and technology in the specialties was laid: "Radio engineering, electronics and telecommunications" and "Space engineering and technology".
In 2012, the Department of "Space engineering and technology" was reorganized and the specialty" radio engineering, electronics and telecommunications "was transferred to the newly formed Department"radio engineering, electronics and telecommunications".
