Gain in-depth dementia care knowledge and skills. This is Australia’s first Bachelor degree specifically focused on dementia. With an ageing population and increased numbers of people living with dementia, it’s becoming essential that those working in health and aged care develop specialised knowledge.
You will gain advanced problem-solving skills, along with an understanding of the importance of evidence-based practice, preparing you for a range of career paths in the aged care and health sector.
In addition to a range of core studies to help you understand the causes and effects of dementia, build knowledge and skills in treatment and care, and understand it's impact on society, you can choose to study an optional major in Ageing Studies and Services, covering contemporary and emerging issues relating to attitudes, care and services for ageing populations.
This degree has an embedded Diploma of Dementia Care, and Associate Degree in Dementia Care. All are offered fully-online, providing entry and exit points to support students from a wide range of backgrounds, and career aspirations.
