The Screen Studies Programme at School Communication is designed to prepare communication professionals with an international profile. The globalisation of content and audiences, as well as the proliferation of multinational communication companies, has led to a high demand for graduates capable of addressing international and multicultural audiences.
The Degree in Audiovisual Communication + Screen Studies is taught in Spanish and English at language modality, thus ensuring the correct acquisition of knowledge, competences and skills foreseen in the Study program. During the four years of Degree, students will take 50% of the subjects in English.
What will you learn?
The Degree in Audiovisual Communication + Screen Studies focuses on the creation and management of fiction and entertainment audiovisual content, from both a professional and academic approach.
The aim of this Degree is to prepare qualified professionals from the world of communication who are capable of devising, producing and producing audiovisual content of different types (films, TV series, documentaries, or 3D animations), designed for multimedia integration and capable of being broadcast on any platform. Specifically, emphasis is placed on the training of scriptwriters, director-directors and producer-managers, profiles that require university-level training, both because of the subject of competences and skills they require and because of their social responsibility.
Similarly, this Degree has been designed in such a way as to ensure an appropriate balance between theory and practice, typical of university level. By the end of the course, students will have made at least one TV series sequence, one entertainment programme, one short film, one documentary and one 3D animation. Once they have acquired basic experience in each of these formats, they will be able to repeat any of them on a larger scale as a final project Degree, benefiting from a qualitative leap.
