The Department of Mathematics offers undergraduate programs in pure and applied mathematics to provide the students with a fundamental and extensive mathematical training. Courses are available to the mathematics majors who wish to pursue and advanced degree in various areas.

The class of 1968 alumni H. T. Kung, 1972 alumni C. S. Cheng and 1974 alumni R. S. Tsay are Sinica Academicians. Four other alumni were presidents of other universities and many alumni are professors of universities in Taiwan.
