Students graduate from the civil engineering major trained in the principles necessary to practice in one or more of the many subspecialties of the field. Civil engineers are experts in design, planning, research and development for the rehabilitation, operation, maintenance or creation of engineering systems and infrastructure in the industrial fields of geotechnical, structural, transportation, environmental, construction management, water resources, and public facilities engineering. As a student, you will be well prepared for a career as a civil engineer and on the path towards successfully obtaining Professional Engineer (PE) licensure, or to go on to graduate studies.
