Our focus is combining information systems with domain knowledge from various fields. Therefore, our curriculum is developed jointly with the Department of Computer Science, Information Security, and Communications Engineering. In this program, students will learn about the theory and technology of information systems and their applications in various fields of information science through programming assignments and hands-on activities.
The program covers artificial intelligence (AI), data mining, algorithms, machine learning, natural language processing, and robotics. You will be exposed to different learning approaches:
Project-based units where you will use your theoretical and technical knowledge to develop applications such as software systems, prototype models, and theoretical frameworks.
Working on real-world and research-inspired problems to apply advanced analytical and logical thinking skills to solve complex and novel problems.
Gaining relevant contemporary IT and interpersonal capabilities that will prepare you for senior professional positions in the IT field.
Upon graduating, you will have the specialist knowledge and skills required for senior IT-related professional positions or to pursue a Ph.D. program. You will also have the chance to gain practical experience in AI by applying the concepts learned during your studies.
Scholarship
The IMPISA program is a scholarship program for Taiwan ICDF scholarship recipients. It covers the cost of tuition, credits, housing, and airfare. In addition, recipients receive a $500 monthly allowance and can participate in cultural activities and intensive mandarin courses during the winter or summer break.
