The Master's degree program in Georesources and Geoenergy Engineering is the only program on primary resources and energy in Italy. It responds to the demand for professionals in the field of decarbonization and sustainable exploration, production and processing of raw materials and energy resources, with particular focus on key competencies for the energy transition, decarbonizations and mitigation of the environmental impacts of extractive activities.

You will become a highly qualified professional who can work in a variety of socio-environmental contexts, in industry and service companies involved in mining and energy resources. You will be able to deal with the technical and technological issues of the energy transition, decarbonization and technological transition. You will design, plan, implement and control exploration and production of natural resource deposits and gas storage.

Formerly called “Petroleum and Mining Engineering”, the program is renowned for its long tradition of excellence. Placed 16th in 2022 QS ranking for Petroleum Engineering and 42nd in Mineral and Mining Engineering, it has always benefited from a very strong link with industry and a broad international network. 

From the academic year 2022-2023, it has been strongly renewed to respond to the new challenges of energy and ecological transition, introducing new topics connected to sustainability, underground storage of energy and CO2 capture and storage/sequestration, sustainable planning of mining activities through their environmental impact mitigation, digitalization.
