About Emirates Academy for Identity and Citizenship

The Emirates Academy for Identity and Citizenship (EAIC) was originally established in 2008 as the Emirates Institute for Citizenship, Residence, and Ports, in accordance with Federal Law issued by Ministerial Cabinet Regulation No. 37 of 2008. It operated within the organizational structure of the Ministry of Interior, with the mission of providing unique and specialized vocational training in the fields of citizenship, residence, and port security.

According to the Directorial Decree issued under Federal Law No. 2 of 2004 and its amendments, along with Ministerial Cabinet Regulation No. 7 of 2018, the institute was restructured as a unit within the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security. It was subsequently renamed the Emirates Academy of Identity and Citizenship.

In 2012, the institution attained higher education status by receiving Initial Institutional Licensure from the UAE Ministry of Education through the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) and renewed in 2020. In 2013, EAIC applied for Initial Accreditation for its Bachelor's and Diploma programs in Citizenship, Residence, and Ports, which was granted in 2014. These academic programs were reaccredited by the CAA in 2024 and are now titled Bachelor and Diploma in Identity Management and Security Sciences. EAIC has also officially received Initial Accreditation for a Master of Science in National Security from the CAA - Ministry of Higher Education of Scientific Research in February 2025, which is scheduled to launch in Fall 2025. The academy offers its academic programs at the main campus in Abu Dhabi and its branch in Dubai.

The academy's faculty members are highly qualified, with both academic and practical experience in areas such as Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security, and National Security. The comprehensive curricula include theoretical, practical, and capacity-building courses aimed at enhancing the educational standards and professional competencies of human resources at the Federal Authority of Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security and its strategic partners. This, in turn, contributes to the sustainable development of security services and the well-being of both the local and international communities.
